The selling was probably caused by Investors taking profits before the holidays. At the moment price is near the $16000 mark again and will probably test the high around $17000 again. Bitcoin futures made its debut today on the CBOE. Traders and Investors now have the opportunity to open long AND short positions using this instrument. eSignal symbol for the January contract is XBT F18-CF. Speculation by some traders was made as to how trading this first future for BTC will influence price discovery on the BTC exchanges? Only time will tell, but expect more wild price swings in future with the coming of the BTC future. ALTCOINS The biggest gainers were Open Source Coin (OSC) with a gain of 250% the past 24hours, followed by UniversalCurrency (UNIT) with a gain of 202% and TerraNova (TER) with a gain of 178%.
